An AI interviewer, not a robocall

It asks your questions one at a time, listens, follows up once when an answer is thin, and answers questions about the job from your notes. It doesn't decide anything. It reports.

Applicants call you, 24/7

No phone tag, no voicemail, nothing to schedule. They tap the number when they're free, including 8pm and weekends, which is when most hourly applicants actually apply.

A scorecard, not a gut feeling

Every answer scored against the question you asked, with the reasoning, the recording, and the transcript. Compare applicants on what they said, not on how the call felt.

Why it works

Call every applicant back before someone else does

Applicants apply at 8pm and on weekends. The recruiter calls back Monday, gets voicemail, tries again Wednesday. By then the good ones took the job that called first. PhoneScreen makes the first conversation happen in the first hour, for every applicant, without a recruiter on the line.

Screens finish in about four minutes

Median time from the apply form to a scored transcript is a few minutes, at any hour

Same day vs. next week

the interview show rate when the first conversation happens the day they apply instead of a week later.

Per completed screen

$4

after your first 10 free. A recruiter's 15-minute screen costs more than that in time before it's even scheduled.

One steady filter for every applicant, every location, every recruiter.

Human phone screens vary with who's calling, what time it is, and how the last call went. PhoneScreen asks every applicant for a role the same questions in the same order, scores them on the same rubric, and never shortens a call because it's Friday at five. Your whole pipeline passes through one consistent screen, and you can show exactly how each decision was made.

What you get

Built for hundreds of applicants and one recruiter

Applicants call in

A local number with your business name on caller ID. The screen starts the moment they dial, any hour, any day.

Any language in, English out

Applicants pick from 30+ languages on the form. The screen runs in their language; you read the transcript and scores in English.

One scorecard per screen

Score out of 100, each answer with its reasoning, flags worth double-checking, recording, transcript. In your inbox a minute after hangup.

Link, embed, or connect

Put the link on the job post, embed the apply form on your careers page, or let your ATS send it. Results flow back to where you work.

How it works

Set up once. Then every applicant screens themselves.

  1. 01 Paste the job posting +

PhoneScreen reads it and drafts five screening questions in about ten seconds. Edit them, or write your own. Do this once per role.

  2. 02 Share the link, or embed the form +

Put it on the job post, in your ATS auto-reply, in a text after you review applications, or embed the apply form on your own careers page.

  3. 03 Applicants call in when they're ready +

They fill in three fields, tap the number, and the interviewer greets them by name, asks your questions, and wraps up. About four minutes.

  4. 04 Read the scorecards +

Sort by score, open the ones worth a look, mark accepted or rejected. Results also post to your ATS. The human interview starts at the interesting part.

Questions

What hiring managers ask before they try it

What exactly is PhoneScreen? +

An AI interviewer that runs your first-round phone screen. You give it the questions for a role. Applicants get a link, call in when they are ready, and it asks your questions one at a time. You get a scored transcript a minute after they hang up.

How is AI used, and what does it not do? +

The AI does three things: runs the conversation (asks, listens, follows up once when an answer is thin, answers questions about the job from your notes), writes the transcript, and scores each answer against the question you asked. It does not decide who to hire. Your team reads the scorecards and does that.

Does it sound like a robot? +

No. It speaks naturally, pauses when the applicant pauses, handles interruptions, and wraps up politely if someone says they are not interested. Take the three-question sample on this page and judge for yourself.

Why do applicants call in instead of you calling them? +

Unknown numbers go to voicemail. When the applicant dials, the call always connects, there is nothing to schedule, and they pick a moment when they can actually talk. If you want, you can still place outbound calls from the dashboard or your ATS.

What if an applicant never calls? +

Then you learned something early: they also would not have answered your call or shown up for an interview. The link can be re-sent, and you can dial out to anyone you specifically want to reach.

What languages does it support? +

English, Spanish, and thirty more. Applicants choose the language on the apply form; the whole screen runs in it. You read the transcript and scorecard in English, with the original a click away.

Is it consistent and fair? +

Every applicant for a role gets the same questions, in the same order, scored on the same rubric. It never asks about age, health, family, religion, or national origin. Every call has a recording and transcript, so you can show exactly how a decision was made.

How much does it cost? +

Your first 10 screens are free. After that it is $4 per completed screen, billed monthly for what you use. No seats, no monthly fee, no contract. Voicemails, missed calls, and applicants who decline are never charged.

Do I have to replace my ATS or careers page? +

No. Put the apply link on the job post or in your ATS auto-reply, embed the apply form on your own careers page, or connect Indeed, CareerPlug, Hireology, ApplicantPro, Workstream, Zapier, or the API to start screens automatically. Scorecards flow back to wherever you work.
