Compare 13 AI interviewers for hourly and high-volume hiring on phone interviews, speed, languages, published pricing, integrations and self-serve access.

A hiring manager at a store's back office compares several vendor one-pagers spread across the desk

Most “best AI interviewer” lists are written for corporate recruiting: video interviews, coding tests, Workday integrations. Hourly hiring is a different problem. Applicants apply from a phone, often between shifts. They have three other applications open. The employer that reaches them first usually wins, and the person doing the hiring is often a store, kitchen or agency manager with no recruiter behind them.

So this list ranks AI interviewers on what decides hourly hiring, and it says up front who wrote it: we make PhoneScreen, and it is first. Every other entry is described from the vendor’s own public pages, checked on October 2, 2026, with a fair note on where each one is the better choice. If something here has changed, email [email protected] and we will fix it.

What matters for hourly roles

  • Phone first. A phone call is the one format an hourly applicant can always finish. Video interviews and web links lose people who are on a bus, on a break, or on an older phone.
  • Speed to first contact. Hourly applicants take the first job that calls back. Either the candidate can start the interview the moment they apply, or the tool calls them within minutes.
  • Languages. In warehouses, kitchens, hotels and home care, the strongest applicant may think in Spanish, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese or Somali. An interview in their language gets you their real answer.
  • Structure you can defend. The same questions in the same order for everyone, each answer scored against the question, with the reasoning and recording kept.
  • Pricing you can see, and no contract. Hourly volume swings with the season. A per-interview price or a monthly plan you can see beats a quote and an annual commitment for most small and mid-sized employers.
  • Fit with what you already use. Enterprise teams need Workday, iCIMS or Bullhorn. Small and mid-sized hourly employers are more often on Indeed, CareerPlug, Hireology, ApplicantPro or Workstream.

It interviews in 34 languages, including Haitian Creole, Tagalog, Somali, Amharic and Khmer, and hands back everything in English. It always says it is an AI, and it never accepts or rejects anyone.

  • Channels: Phone (call-in or outbound); text and email for invites and follow-ups. No video.
  • Languages: 34.

  • Also included: a free resume screener, and Reference Agent for reference checks by text or call (free in beta).
  • Where it falls short: no video or WhatsApp interviews, no native Workday, iCIMS or Bullhorn integration, and no security certification yet.
